I am now pursuing my master’s in Systems Design Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Wong. I was first exposed to image processing while working on in vivo bone implant images to determine bone porosity at the UW Rapid Prototyping Lab. Then, I worked at Colibri Technologies applying digital signal processing to ultrasound images.

Carballo received his B.S. degree in computer science in 1992 and his B.S. degree in astronomy in 1993, from the Universidad de la Republica, Montevideo, Uruguay. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, in geoinformatics.

In 1991, he joined the Faculty, Centro de Calculo, Universidad de la republica, where he was the head of the GIS and Remote Sensing Department. From 1994 to 2001, was Senior Consultant for ICA, an engineering consulting company based in Mexico.

Khellah received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada in 2001. He joined the Canada Center for Remote Sensing (CCRS) as a Research Assistant where he worked on developing algorithms for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for search and rescue applications. Presently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Computer and Information Science Department, Prince Sultan University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
