Photoacoustic Remote Sensing (PARS) Microscopy is a novel biomedical imaging modality that derives its contrast from optical absorption. Light from a pulsed laser is absorbed, inducing localized fluctuations in the optical properties of the target. These fluctuations are observed and recorded as time-domain signals. In this seminar, the challenges associated with understanding the information present in the time-domain signals is explored. Solutions of several types are proposed; however, each comes with its own challenges and limitations.
