Bavesh Balaji is a MASc student in the Systems Design Engineering department, working under the supervision of Prof. David Clausi and Prof. Sirisha Rambhatla. He is a member of the Sports analytics Research Group in the VIP lab. His research focuses on developing robust pose estimation networks and leveraging them to recognise key actions/events in Ice Hockey. Furthermore, he also works on unique player identification and player evaluation. He ultimately aims at developing an automated solution for reliable assessment of player and team strategies.
