You have been asked to review a paper for a major computer vision conference, let’s say CVPR, ICCV or WACV. Last time you submitted to one of these conferences you received a bad review. This is not the opportunity to pass it on. Review the paper as if you would want your paper reviewed. Peer review of publications is important and thus it is important to put a lot of effort into reviewing a paper, equally emphasizing the positive and negative. Your critique should focus on the method and novel contributions to the field which could be a new problem, task, dataset or new insights. The focus should not solely be on the results.
I will try to go over a methodology and insight for reviewing a paper. I may also try to integrate one of the papers on my review queue to try to put into practice what I am trying to preach.
