Peter Iles

Peter Iles focused his MASc research in the VIP research group on image processing and computer vision. His objective was the ability to automatically count cells in embryonic tissue. Peter received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Peter is now a project manager for vision systems at Neptec Design Group where he develops 3D vision algorithms for automatic target recognition, change detection, scene segmentation, and visual odometry. He is currently the navigation lead for Neptec’s Artemis lunar rover prototype. During his time at Neptec he has also taken the role as image analyst for Neptec’s Laser Camera System for five Space Shuttle missions, and lead analyst for four missions.
