Six Decades in Academia

Dr. Adel Sedra was the Vice-President & Provost at the University of Toronto before becoming the Dean of Engineering at the University of Waterloo, a post he held 2003-2012.  Dr. Sedra was instrumental in the Waterloo Engineering strategic plan that led to the creation of the buildings E5, E6, and E7 as well as numerous other initiatives.  Dr. Sedra is widely recognized for his scholarship contributions, including the standard textbook in microelectronics courses, Microelectronic Circuits, which is now in its 7th edition.  Dr. Sedra’s impact on Waterloo Engineering will continue to be felt for decades.

Dr. Sedra will present on “Six Decades in Academia”, a description of how his academic career provided the opportunity for him to contribute in many areas, enabling him to become an award-winning engineering educator, a best-selling textbook author, a leading researcher and mentor of graduate students, and a leader in higher education.
